The concept behind my FMP is a Chinese city in an alternate reality set in the 90s/00s, where the water level has risen to consume most of the Earth. The remaining societies have built cities on top of remaining skyscrapers or mountains. I used CryEngine3 as the engine for my FMP, using 3DS Max 2013, Photoshop CS5, Crazybump, Zbrush and nDo2 to create my assets.
Alongside creating a fantasy/reality-hybrid city that feels believable, one of the other main goals for my FMP was creating a large playable environment with large amounts of detail with efficient use of memory. As such all objects over 300 tris have at least one LOD and I took full advantage of CryEngine3's shaders, using the colour slider tool to allow for many various colours for things like the bikes and window frames at next to no additional texture cost.
